Driving in the car. Vincent opens a can of Coca Cola. A gasp of disgust is heard from the back seat, and David says, "Dad, you can't drink and drive!"
In the confessional, after hearing my confession the priest said, "that's a long list of negatives, can't you tell me something good about yourself".
Mary-rose looks up at me very lovingly and says, "Mum, I love you and when I grow up I'm going to try to remember you."
he he he.....
We witnessed a phenomenon here yesterday. The temp. warmed up and it rained, then the temp. dropped again and the rain which had been laying on top of the snow froze. The result much to Naomi and Mary-roses's delight was the entire land surrounding our house turned into one giant ice skating rink. They quickly put on their ice skates and spent the next few hours whizzing around.
Winter is definitely loosing it's grip. We went to the beach again and compared to two weeks ago you wouldn't have thought it was the same beach, 85% of the snow was gone, and the waves rolled in, not a single iceberg in sight! The beach was covered with these large oddly shaped masses which were a mixture of sand and ice. Spring officially starts in less than 2 weeks, and they start daylight savings this Sunday. They definitely make the most of daylight savings here, it will go for the next 8 months.
They have 2 weeks school holidays here in mid March, however we will work through it as we will have 2 weeks off in the last half of May when we go for our walkabout the mainland.
