Halloween & All Saint's Day

Last weekend we celebrated the well known church feast days of "All Hallow's" meaning "All Souls" day or more well known as Halloween. We went into Charlottetown 'trick or treating ' what a different kind of experience that was! The kids collected heaps of junk food and we only did 2 streets! I saw one kid with a big duffel bag who obviously had the intention of doing the whole town and having enough junk for the entire year! It was good fun, very sociable thing to do really, good way to get to know your neighbourhood.

The next day was the church feast day of "All Saints" and the kids had an All Saints party in their Catechism class with the other children before Mass. So the ghoulish ,David, turned into Saint Francis of Assiss. The ghostly ,Naomi, turned into an angel. Saint Gabriel to be exact, who came to the Blessed Virgin Mary (acca Mary-Rose) telling her she would bring forth a son, Jesus Christ.

  2. I'm flattered! I certainly did not pack them. I went to 'value Village' a big second hand store and bought sheets for about $5 each, and a few accessories. Made the witches hat out of cardboard.

  3. The costumes look great! We had a big one this year, the first since the one you were all at a few years back ~ we hope now to make it an annual event...I particuarly love Naomi's angel wings!
