Moving into our new house

Tues. 13th Theresa (real estate agent from the Church) manages to get us a lovely 3br fully furnished house, at West St. Peter’s for $450 per month.

Extremely cheap and suits us perfectly. The house belongs to a relative of hers. She has done us a great favour. The house has everything we need, it is modern, warm, the location is beautiful, we are 3 minutes from the beach, 7 minutes to the nearest little town (some shops, school, public library , petrol station) and 20 minutes to Charlottetown. It sleeps 6 people so is just big enough for us.

We ask, where does the water come from? They tell us that it comes from ‘the well’ - apparently the whole island draws it’s water from ‘the well’. I assume it’s a sub- terrain water aquifer. The water is pristine, crystal clear and untreated. It’s better than the bottled stuff and it comes out cool like it’s been in the fridge, and apparently, it never runs out. Amazing! NO fluoride! No Chlorine! Or any other chemicals for that matter. I would have to say it is the best water I’ve ever tasted.

We wanted rural and oh boy did we get it. I have got to say it is nice to be out of the city. We do have neighbours though, they're spaced out about 200m between houses all up this street. One house directly opposite us has just been erected and the people haven't moved in yet.

  1. Guys, love the Basilica and the house. It must have been a tiring trip from the sounds but God's help was always close by. I look forward to hearing more about Canada. Greg

  2. Hi Rebecca - Clare here.
This looks just like heaven! My heart almost aches with wistfullness how lovely this all seems. Your right! Who would really want to live in the city when you can have this? Only because of family and IT Management jobs (which seem to be city centred) we seem to settle in the "burbs" which can be soul destroying.
Also, has it hit you yet just how far away you all are from us here "down under"?

  3. Sometimes I still have to pinch myself that we're really here.
