Confederation Trail

We can now add chipmunk, and American Bald Eagle, to our list of North American animal sightings (fox, squirrel (pictured), seal, Blue Jays, Red Robin, and other birds I don't know the name of, a skunk-seen only by Vincent, and I could say raccoon but I don't want to include road kill:) We tried to see buffalo a couple of weeks ago when we took a drive to "buffalo land" but unfortunately there wasn't a buffalo in sight!

The Confederation Trail is a walking track that goes from one tip of the island to the other. It follows the old train tracks-for some reason trains didn't last on the island. They took away the tracks and it is now all trails for walking, biking and snowmobiles (in winter). well, I finally went for a walk on a section of it and I wasn't disappointed! The trail crossed over the Morel River-the same river that Vincent and David went canoeing on, on Easter Sat.-It was a beautiful spot. I've uploaded a small video of the spot. I'm looking forward to exploring more of the trail in the future.

Lastly, this Island can be very windy. We all enjoyed flying kites today in our back yard. We have tried many times over the years to fly kites but could never do it. So, the kids were wrapped when this one went up, up, up and stayed up for the whole time we were out there.
