Every Friday we meet with a group of about 30 home schoolers and go skiing. It's great, we've been twice now. We were much improved this week. Last week there was tears of frustration from some of the kids as they couldn't stand up after falling down at first. I was so proud of them though because they didn't give up. This week you wouldn't have known they were the same kids, they were doing so well! Zooming down the training hill.
Vincent, hadn't skied for 16 years since his Japan days but he was still pretty good. He was able to go up the ski lift to the big hill. The rest of us are still on the training hill and I don't know if I will ever be good enough to get off the training hill! But I am slowly improving, my balance is ok, but I can't turn yet. Vincent and I take turns looking after, Eve, in the lodge while the other is out skiing.
Once again we have met very nice people at skiing, Alice, who organises it spent ages with our kids on the first day helping them to get the hang of it. Alice's teenage daughter also spent a lot of time with Mary-rose and Naomi teaching them how to ski.
I can't wait to go again next Friday, it's such a different kind of thing to do.
