Arriving in JFK, New York

Finally, we arrived at JFK airport in New York City.

We went to baggage claim to fill in a form for our missing pram and car seat. Thank God we had to because a very kind lady called, Barbara, who worked behind the counter got talking to us. When she found out we were going to get the complimentary shuttle bus to our hotel, she rang the shuttle bus driver. The time was now midnight (but we were still running on Oz time so it didn't feel late for us) to come from where he was at terminal 3 to where we were at terminal 7 (a long way). This saved us having to catch the air train with all of our luggage – which would have been an ordeal I can tell you. A perfect example of Gods providence, temporarily losing the pram was well worth gaining an easy ride to the hotel.

Arriving at the hotel for the night was wonderful. It was a very nice hotel and the thought of having a bed to sleep in after such an uncomfortable night on the aeroplane was soooo good.

We got to bed about 2am and we all slept in till about 9 the next morning - I slept well. Thankfully we were granted a late check out (3pm) so we had some time to recoup before our 4th and final flight to Halifax, Nova Scotia.
